Just about everyone hates cleaning chores but everyone loves a clean home. Except you have a live-in/daily cleaner, it can get difficult to stay on top of all your cleaning needs, so here are some quick hacks to stay on top of your cleaning
1. Clean by task, not one room at a time
A more efficient way to clean is to pick one task (sweeping, mopping) and do the same task in every room in the house, rather than completely cleaning different rooms from top to bottom and then repeating the same sequence in another room.
2. Declutter Often
Before you even start cleaning, make sure to declutter. A good rule of thumb is to toss anything you have not used in the last 3 months. Chances are you really don’t need that item and are just a hoarder. Either store it away or give it out. Whatever your choice, just make sure it is out of sight.
3. Clean from Top-Down
It is better to clean high places first. So clean the ceiling fans, get the cobwebs out and wipe down surfaces before you start sweeping or vacuuming. You don’t want to sweep first and then get dust all over the place when you wipe down the ceiling fan. Sweep and mop from the farthest corner out, you don’t want to box yourself in and then leave footmarks across places you have cleaned already.
4. Disinfect all surface areas
. Make a nontoxic disinfection solution by mixing one-fourth to a half cup of white or apple cider vinegar with a cup of water and then wipe down all surfaces in your home. Remotes, speakers, tables, chairs. Everywhere.
5. Keep Your Cleaning Tools Clean
Have your cleaning tools clean and dry ahead of your next clean, that way, you can get started right away the next time you have to clean.
